^Lot 149 Japanese "Suji Bachi" Kabuto Helmet

Old Japanese Suji Bachi kabuto helmet, late Edo period 1603-1867. Iron 16-plate skull with classic Suji Bachi raised ridge meeting points between the plates. Chrysanthemum penal backed rivets to the front and well made Tehen / Agemaki no Kan in brass. Shikoro associated and probably earlier with purple silk cord. Unusual scalloped edge Fukigaeshi with matching purple silk cord. Size 14" L, 7 1/4" H, stand not included. Condition: Wear overall commensurate with age and use. Old restorations or compositions..
