^Lot 33 Turkish Bronze Hammer Head, 17th c.

Ottoman empire, Turkish bronze Hammer of a Janissary warrior hammer probably 17th century or earlier. Well formed hammer with deep dark patination. The head a multi-faceted cube forward a tapered octagonal section. Hammer body a well carved four sided cube and a rear spike with a blunted carved tip. Possible engraved inscription or fret border before the spike at either side. Size 5 1/2" L. Provenance: Ex-USA Collection
