^Lot 756 Remington Rolling Block Pistol .44 Russian

NVSN. Scarce .44 S&W Russian caliber. This pistol in almost every respect is a Remington model 1901 target pistol except the 10" barrel is fully round, patridge front sight, correct rear adjustable rear sight, knurled off-set thumb lever, knurled trigger, old re-blued finish, profusely factory checkered grip and schnabel tipped forend. Built using a 1870 navy frame. (Correct) Frame markings include ‘REMINGTONS ILION N.Y. U.S.A./PAT. MAY 3D NOV 15 1864 APRIL 17TH 1868’ on the frame, left side. ‘P/F.C.W.’ (Frank C. Warner, Navy Inspector of RBs) on the frame, right side. No other markings observed. Bore is excellent/bright, wood is excellent with fine checkering, the patent dates are feint. Blue finish has dulled a little bit but is all there. Grip screw is engraved. Worthy of further research.NRA Condition-Very Good. Antique Firearm.
