Lot 547 Antique Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall .25-20 WCF Single Shot Rifle

Manufactured in 1893. This antique low wall features a 26" blued octagon barrel chambered for the .25-20 Single Shot cartridge. Barrel weight No. 1, stamped on the bottom. Two-line Winchester address stamped on the left barrel flat and Winchester proof marks stamped on both the barrel and receiver. Rear adjustable semi-buckhorn sight and blade front sight. Straight walnut stock fitted with original crescent metal butt plate. Matching wood forearm with Schnabel tip. Cody Museum quick check letters as a 22 WCF caliber, but does show a return and repair dated January 5, 1914. It is factory stamped "REBORE" under the forearm with JPP inspection marks. LOP: 13". CONDITION
Retains 80% finish on barrel with light scratches and wear on the high edges. Receiver has turned to a gray patina. Stock shows scratches and dings and possible repaired crack at the tang, done very nicely if so, very solid. Light pitting in the bore, good mechanics.
