^Lot 306 Rare and Desirable L. Unertl U.S.M.C. 8x Sniper Scope

Made by John Unertl in Mars, Pennsylvania in 1942, with the government ordering approximately 3500 with 1750 actually being delivered. Scope measures 23-1/2" long with 1-1/2" front bell with adjustment grip. 3/4" tube with 8x crosshair reticle. Scope has original steel screw on caps, black Japaned finish, and Posa type micrometer mount marked "J. Unertl/USMC-SNIPER/1084". Scope is also marked with electric pen "USMC Property" with original Parkerized finish.
CONDITION
80% original Military Finish with some dents in front bell. All settings seem to be free and functioning. Optics are good but could use a professional cleaning. Missing recoil spring.
