.54 perc Serial # NSN Produced by Ira N. Johnson of Middletown Conn with brass furniture and mounts. 8 1/2" 54 caliber smooth bore with swiveled ram rod. Percussion ignition and oil finished one piece walnut stock. Lock is dated 1853 and breech is dated 1849. Good with iron having been cleaned bright with some evidence of pitting. Bore is dark. Brass is lightly cleaned but attaining a yellow patina. The stock has some wear with bruises and impressions, but no material losses evident. Action operates properly and pistol remains attractive.
