^Lot 20 Handmade King Size Quilt Giraffe

This stunning giraffe stands 5 feet tall. The design is paper-pieced, a technique in which fabric is sewn to foundation paper using geometric pieces. The paper is then removed to reveal the perfectly matched seams and points. The background is pieced using an ombre fabric moving from dark to light. Authentic African print fabric is used on the borders to finish off this 98 x 100 inch quilt. We thank Sue Vertrees for this donation.
