Harold Peterson in his 1965 text "AMERICAN INDIAN TOMAHAWKS" shows almost identical bronze cast head with extremely tall tapered bowl with no top molding, eye area is faceted, round eye. This example has additional incised lines on bowl and eye area. The 19.5" haft is file branded and brass tack studded. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copy of pages from Peterson book showing "Museum of the American Indian" example. CONDITION: very good overall. Head has light patina, scratches, dings, and dents.
