Lot 4564 PAIR OF EARLY POMMEL HOLSTERS.
Holsters like this were used to carry pistols on a saddle when on horseback. They are made of black leather with backing pads and holster cups with brass tips. There is a single small iron roller buckle and partial strap attached on the front of one backing pad. No visible marks. CONDITION: holsters generally show light wear but appear to have minor losses. There are no covering flaps present. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of James B. Taylor. (02-19903/BF). $500-700.
