^Lot 4449 SPENCER 1865 POST WAR ALTERATION OF CIVIL WAR

CARBINE. CAL. 56-50. S# 16922. over 11000 were altered by Springfield Armory from 1867-74 . Bbl. 22" sleeved 3 groove. Fitted with a Stabler cutoff to facilitate a single shot function. CONDITION: Metal finish has faded to a dark patina. Refreshed action markings. Very good stock set showing scattered handling marks, check crack at butt, and strong inspection cartouches.
