ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF, (44-40). S# 405608B. Bbl. 24" octagon. Combination front sight w/ the rare Winchester 6 leaf express w/ tangent leaf rear sight. Folding V notch leaves are marked 100-600 yards. Tangent leaf bar is graduated from 700-1000 yards. Full length mag. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. Mfg. 1892. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to gray showing small spots of pitting & marks. Leaf sight shows pitting. Sanded & refinished wood shows dents & handling marks. Good action.
