Cal. 44 Henry Centerfire. S# 160573. Bbl. 20" carbine style. Fixed front sight w/ carbine leaf rear sight. Full length mag. Brass 4th model action w/ saddle ring on left side. Original band fastened walnut forearm. Replacement model 1873 carbine stock w/ trapdoor buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter listing the following, "Type: Carbine. Received in warehouse on April 13, 1883. Shipped from warehouse on May 28, 1883, Order number 4545. Returned by I. G. B. and Co. on August 13, 1885. Shipped from warehouse on January 16, 1886, Order number 3756". CONDITION: Iron parts show scattered light pitting & have a gray coloration from touch up finish. Bright polished action shows dents & marks. Stock & forearm are sanded w/ gloss style refinish. Stock has cracks & chips around top tang w/ hairline cracks extending from buttplate. Heavily pitted bore. Action closes stiffly. (01-23894/DS). ANTIQUE. $2500-4000.
