Lot 1678 WWI ADRIAN HELMET WITH EXPERIMENTAL POLACK

LOUVERED VISOR. This is a standard WWI Adrian helmet with a front plate that depicts early armor with an “R F” on the front. The helmet was found with what is termed a “Polack” experimental louvered visor. These visors were generally private purchase items by officers and started appearing late in the war. CONDITION: both the helmet & visor have a heavily oxidized finish and were likely a “barn find” in Europe. There is no liner in the helmet. (02-19449/BF). $2,000-4,000.
