WITH CASE & FACTORY LETTER. Cal. 22 LR. S# 178940-S. Bbl 6". Woodsman Match Target semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Colt in 1958. The left side of the barrel bears Colt's single line address, followed by the Rampant Colt logo above "MATCH TARGET" on the frame, and "COLT" followed by the caliber designation on the slide. Metal components are blued, with the frame being mounted with 2 piece checkered wood thumbrest grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory letter indicating that this example was the sole pistol shipped to Joseph Byers in New Britain, CT on January 22nd of 1958, as well as a wood display case featuring the Colt logo on the interior of the lid. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting mild edge wear, with some scattered superficial handling marks overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and minor handling marks. Wood display case exhibits some scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage overall, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. (23-1784/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,100.
