Cal. 30-06. S# 1300871. Bbl. 24" w/ "HS", "(Flaming bomb)" & 10-44 markings. Blade front sight. Remington mfg. ladder rear sight graduated to 2850yds. w/o volley notch. WW2 era rebuild of an interwar 1903. Trigger pull appears lighter than usual & may have been worked on. Straight handle bolt. WW2 era stock w/o grasping grooves. Left side of stock has faint ordnance wheel, boxed "FJA", "AA R" & "3GM-K" cartouches. Bottom of stock has both circled & boxed "P" firing proofs. Bottom mounted sling swivels w/ repro M1907 style sling. CONDITION: stock shows some scratches, light dings & handling wear. Metal retains 90% arsenal reworked parkerized finish w/ some parkerized over pitting on buttplate, fading & edge wear. Fair bore w/ some pitting & scattered frosting but strong rifling. (23-2568/MJC). CURIO. $800-1200.
