'New Model' Repeating rifle with special order nickel trim and octagon barrel, behind address with lat patent date September 16,1871. 44 center fire 29" factory octagon barrel with magazine exposed on bottom 1st type and 1 of approx 300 sporters produced by Evans. Nra good condition with 30-50% blue turning brown and some pitting and erosion. The wood shows some major losses at edges of forend and butt stock shows some scrapes and mars. Most original nickel remains on the lever, cocking piece, and butt. A very rare and special early frontier era arm. NRA Good Antique Firearm
