Lot 4499 PLAINS INDIAN BEAD DECORATED SHEATH
& SKINNING KNIFE. 11" Skinner, or as some folks say "scalper", retains 6" very sharp blade w/ crown stag grip. Sheath is sinew sewn, decorated w/ red, white, blue & greasy yellow beads in typical design. There is also a sewn row of rawhide w/ 11 pinched tin cones, 20" rawhide strap. CONDITION: very good overall. Blade has areas of sharpening, staining & rust. Sheath is supple, complete w/ soiling. PROVENANCE: Collection of John Montague. (02-16581/JS). $900-1,400.
