^Lot 4326 US M1881 INDIAN SCOUT PLUMED HELMET.

This helmet has a 1 piece body with an interior tag that reads “RAYMOLD & WHITLOCK MILITARY Contract, June 4, 1883 GOODS 39 West 14th St., N. Y.”. The helmet features a cavalry front plate with silver crossed arrows added to the shield. Side buttons also show crossed arrows. The long plume and the aiguilette are red & white as is correct for an Indian Scout. CONDITION: helmet body seems quite solid. Aiguilette & plume are slightly soiled. Plume holder has varying degrees of patina. PROVENANCE: From the Raymond Darida Estate. (02-18035-1/BF). $900-1,200.
