Cal. 22 Short. S# 167709. BBL. 24" octagon. M1890 sporting sights. 2nd model rifle w/ mortised breech block having scarce nickel finished action & crescent buttplate. Mag. tube has gallery style loading port. Grooved forend & straight grip walnut stock. Late 2nd model mfg. prior to 1918. CONDITION: Action retains over 80% nickel, buttplate shows about 50%. Bbl & mag tube blue is fading to brown. Original wood finish wear w/ spots of darkening, small dent & marks. Dark pitted bore retains partially visible rifling. (22-1857/DS). CURIO. $2000-2500.
