PISTOL. Cal. 62. NSN. Bbl. 9” round w/ faceted transition to top tang. Top flat has 2 British proofs. Lock is marked “BLAIR” at tail w/ crown over “GR” & broad arrow markings forward of hammer. Estimated quantity of 79 pistols produced by David Blair or his widow Jane. Some of those were possibly Indian used during the War of 1812. Pin fastened walnut stock. Brass fittings consist of butt cap, trigger guard, side plate & 1 faceted pipe. Button tipped iron ramrod. CONDITION: metal has faded to brown showing light corrosion. Stock shows wear & handling marks w/ small spots of repair. Lock has stiff spring tension. Dark pitted bore. (01-23057/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
