^Lot 3207 HALL – NORTH MODEL 1843 SIDE LEVER BREECH LOADING

PERCUSSION CARBINE. Cal. 52. NSN. Bbl. 21" with rifled bore. Approximately 10,500 mfg. by Simeon North, Middletown, CT., 1844-55. Breech Block is operated by the side lever and pivots upward for loading. Block is marked “U. S./S. North/MIDLTN/C0 and and./1849”. Two band fastened walnut stock with iron fittings and button tipped rod has saddle ring and bar on left side. Left side of stock is stamped “4”. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to a mottled brown gray. Stock has aged darkened appearance showing numerous scratches marks and dents. Stock ears have weak cartouches. Functioning action. Lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. (01-21969/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
