Overall length: 29". Blade length: 23 1/2". A truly wonderful, blacksmith made Confederate bowie knife by an accomplished knife maker. Plain, hand forged blade with a plain, hand forged iron D guard style hilt featuring a turned down quillon. 1 Piece wood grip with 2 iron rivets & a 3" x 1/2" brass plate on 1 side. No sheath. CONDITION: blade & hilt have a dark ancient patina. Grip shows moderate wear with a few cracks as a result of the wood drying. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Jack Verret Sr. (02-16490-2/BF). $1,500-2,500.
