KNIFE. 13.5” overall, 9.25” sharpened clip point blade etched in large patriotic panels on either side, stamped on ricasso “C. ROBY & CO / W. CHELMSFORD / MASS”. This knife has survived in extraordinary condition with frosty lustrous blade, perfect ribbed walnut grip with few defects, brass ferrule & unique Roby eaglehead pommel, 2.25” oval steel crossguard. These knives are rare to start with and most examples saw hard use. This knife sold as lot 388 James D Julia Auctions March 12, 2007. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: has letter from original buyer. CONDITION: Extremely fine, lightly sharpened, slightly rounded point, retains virtually all its luster and frost with light scratching. Handle is fine, brass has light mustard patina.
