OFFICER SWORD. This scarce pattern Confederate officer sword with ”CS” in oval on top of guard is often confused as Leech & Rigdon. Classic Mobile features, bulbous grip, round top edge of blade with distinct remnants of Bissonnet scroll etching. CONDITION: very good overall, 30” unstopped fullered blade, traces of fine etched patterns seen mixed with dark iron patina. Brass hilt and pommel have dark chocolate/olive patina. Grip is tight with most of its original polished leather and complete twisted copper wire wrap. (02-19119/JS). $4,000-5,000.
