GRADE. Overall length 16 7/8”. Plain blade marked near the hilt “(seated king) SMF SOLINGEN”. Aluminum Luftwaffe eagle cross guard. Oak leaf embellished ferrule & pommel that features a gilded central party symbol. Premium wire wrapped plum brown grip with silver bullion knot attached. Scabbard has a darkened finish with bright aluminum suspension straps. CONDITION: blade shows areas of scabbard wear with a very few tiny spots of discoloration. Hilt shows light wear, as does the scabbard. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18212/BF). $800-1,200.
