^Lot 1379 GWYN & CAMPBELL CIVIL WAR CARBINE

SERIAL 1532. BARREL 20". CALIBER 52. MADE 1863-64 ONLY HAMILTON OH. Lever action falling block breech loading percussion carbine with exposed hammer, octagon to round barrel, folding ladder sight, walnut butt stock with carbine butt plate. Gwyn & Campbell legend on right side plate. Condition. Good. Metal is dark brown patina with scattered salt & pepper texture around the frame. Wood is very good and tight. Bore is strong with some residue. Flayderman's states that quite a few Union cavalry units were armed with these carbines, some of which fought at Gettysburg. This one looks like it was there. ANTIQUE
