^Lot 663 WW1 COLT MODEL 1917 45 CALIBER SERVICE REVOLVER

SERIAL NUMBER 153577 BARREL 5 1/2" caliber 45 acp manufactured 1918. Produced by Colt for US Gov't sale as a military version of the New Service commercial Colt revolver. Chambered for 45 acp and used 1/2 moon clips for holding cartridges in place and allowing extraction. Secondary polish finish with 2 line Colt barrel address. Marked " UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on underside of barrel. Smooth oil finished 2 piece walnut grips. Fitted at factory with lanyard swivel in but and butt is marked "U.S.ARMY MODEL 1917 No 1772" CONDITION, Good with brilliant bright bore. Revolver retains over 85% blue finish with most losses at grip straps. Grips are worn at corners but remain serviceable. C&R
