John Probin, Maker to His R H The prince of Wales. Gun Maker, 29 Lisle St., Leicester Square, 1826-41. Features a 9.5" octagon barrel in 58 bore, not rifled. Full length walnut stock. Lock stamped R. Probin. Barrel stamped London with two proof marks on left breech. Engraved screw heads, upper tang, trigger guard and pommel. Condition. Smooth patina with razor sharp legends. Stock is excellent with one closed hairline at base period horn tip ramrod. Excellent bore. Fine working order. Not even any burn or corrosion in pan or touch hole. ANTIQUE
