SERIAL NUMBER 169213 BARREL 20" CALIBER 44 CENTER FIRE. MANUFACTURED 1891. Produced by Winchester with gun metal brass frame. blue finished iron barrel and magazine tube and 2 piece straight grained American walnut stocks with steel butt plate with trap for cleaning rod. Stud front sight with elevator adjustable rear barrel mounted sight. Barrel marked with traditional 2 line Winchester barrel address. butt stock is period branded with "C.I." on right side. Carbine has been period converted to the newer Centerfire cartridge from the earlier Rimfire cartridge. CONDITION, Very good with strong bore with light oxidation in grooves. Action operates properly. Stocks are full sized and fine condition. Barrel and magazine have turned plum from period use. Action operates properly.
