Lot 384 VERY FINE BELGIUM TRANTER TYPE PERCUSSION REVOLVER

SERIAL 2875. BARREL 6.5". CALIBER 44. MADE CIRCA 1863-65. Frame stamped NEUMANN FRERES & CO. LIEGE. This is a superb quality six shot double action revolver patterned after the Tranter and guild built in Belgium, many of which were smuggled into the South during the war. A fine pistol that features an octagon barrel, plain cylinder, checkered one piece walnut grips with lanyard ring. Condition. Cylinder retains 90% blue. Barrel has flaked to about 30% as has frame but nipples show little to no wear and most blue loss has simply flaked to patina. Grips are near mint. Rifling is crisp and strong while action performs admirably. ANTIQUE
