SERIAL NUMBER 1472 BARREL 2 7/8" CALIBER .22 RIM FIRE MANUFACTURED 1871. Very first production of the Colt 7 shot open top revolver with nickel finish, varnished walnut grips and barrel mounted ejector rod assembly. Fire blue finished hammer, trigger, locking bar and trigger screw. Marked on barrel top with 2 line Colts Hartford address, Serial numbered on barrel, frame and right grip internally. Full nickel finish. These scarce ejector mounted mounted open top revolvers are a great rarity and are very rarely found with any condition. CONDITION, Very fine with over 98% nickel finish remaining with a very small flake missing at the side plate seam and some loss at muzzle and forcing cone. The grips are very fine with most all varnish remaining. The bore and chambers are very fine and the action operates properly. Truly an exceptional example of a rarely encountered example. ANTIQUE
