American made single-shot, break-open shotgun (1891-1910) 18 1/4" barrel (Has been shortened) marked "The W.H. Davenport Fire Arms Co. Norwich Conn. USA", and "Model 1885" with patent dates. Bore is rough, may improve with cleaning. Action is stiff. metal has turned a brown patina with scattered pin-prick pitting. Buttplate is a Remington replacement. Tang screw replaced, Semi-pistol grip has been ground off. NRA Condition-Fair. C&R Firearm.
