Lot 460a Winchester Model 1897 16 Ga SN: 90485

Shotgun. Slide-Action. Vintage take-down repeating shotgun chambered for 2 9/16" 16 gauge shells, full choke, manufactured in New Haven, CT IN 1901. Features a blued finish, 20" barrel (cut down), 5 round tube magazine, brass bead front sight, smooth trigger, exposed hammer with knurled spur, single action bar, grooved walnut slide handle and smooth semi-pistol grip shoulder stock with smooth steel buttplate. Matching serial numbers are found on the receiver and takedown extension. Markings are readable. Bore is very excellent/bright. Action sticks, and works intermittently, needs adjustment.. Varnished wood buttstock is good with some scratches/dings, Ribbed forearm has cracked in half length wise, and has been glued together. Metal finish has turned a brown/gray patina with areas in the white. Choke measures CYL with gauge. NRA Condition-Fair/Needs repair. C& R Firearm
