In 44 rim or percussion, marked "No .44. with medium weight in the gun has a 30" octagon BBL with western style buckhorn rear sight and blade and post front sight. Stock shows refinishing and a compression on right forend from weight. Metal lightly cleaned long ago and coloring back to gray patina. Bore is bright with strong rifling. A very early sporting rifle, made sense for the cartridges were hard to find in the west. Condition is NRA Good Antique Firearm
