^Lot 2103 WWII ERA NAVY WOOD / LEATHER 1911A1 PISTOL RACK

An interesting WW2 issue wood and leather rack used aboard U.S. Navy Ships to secure 6 Colt 1911A1 Automatic Pistols. Construction is wood & leather, secured w/ brass screws. Dimensions are 18" W x 15.75" H. Both sides marked; "PISTOL RACK / .45 CAL COLT AUTO PISTOL / MODEL 1911A1 / ORD. DR. NO. 42807 / MFG. AT NAVY YARD, PHILA., PA.". CONDITION: Still retains all leather holsters, straps & screws. Leather has stiffened over the years but doesn't appear cracked or damaged. Typical "greening" around brass at leather connection points. Original lettering still readable on both sides. Wood retains original finish & is structurally solid. (02-17437-6/JZ). $150-250.
