Cal. 69. NSN. 41" Overall. Bbl. 36" cut down. Appears made from late 1770s Charleville w/ buttplate removed & 140 tacks applied w/ a red ocher background to wood. Bbl. is held to stock by strands of copper wire. Interesting tack designs on buttstock, numerous guns of this genre, but this one has a good look for display. CONDITION: fair overall, iron has mottled gray patina w/ pitting. Mechanically functional but frizzen spring is weak. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of John "Tim" Breth Jr. (01-17765/JS).
