Lot 4324 UNIQUE FOLDING POLL TOMAHAWK.
This exact knife is shown in at least 2 reference books, Hartzler Indian Tomahawks & Grant The Knife in Homespun America. Distinct solid poll folding tomahawk, haft is made in 2 pieces w/ about a 2" hinge & a 3" sliding iron collar. One side of the base of grip is angled & slotted to house the cutting edge & the grip is held together by a brass rivet. This is quite a piece of American ingenuity that could fit into a hunting bag, folding to 6.5" x 3", open haft is 11", blade 6.5". CONDITION: very good overall.
