Cal. 38-55. S# 68296. Bbl. 20" w/ pinned blade front sight & elevator adj. folding leaf carbine rear sight. Left side of action has stud for saddle ring attachment. Long wood forearm & straight grip stock w/ steel carbine buttplate. 1896 Mfg. CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube retain 30% dull fading blue. Action retains traces of blue in protected areas w/ balance fading to gray & showing scattered light pitting. Wood has worn & peeling finish. Showing scratches & handling marks. Left side of stock is broken & repaired through a knot that was an obvious flaw in the wood. Bore has lightly worn rifling w/ some very light pitting. (01-18412/DS). ANTIQUE. $600-900.
