Cal. 58. NSN. Bbl. 40". Top flat at breech end is stamped "CO F / 9TH INF 105". Barleycorn front sight w/ graduated leaf rear sight. Springfield lock fitted w/ Maynard tape primer feed mechanism. Bbl. & lock are dated 1858. 3 Band walnut stock w/ iron fitting & tulip tipped ramrod. Left ear of stock has partially visible cartouches. CONDITION: bbl. has dark crusty appearance. Lock is partially cleaned w/ areas of dark appearance. Stock has dark aged appearance w/ scratches & marks having a series of sm. dents on left side w/ a crack extending from buttplate. Hammer will not hold in cocked position as sear is broken. Hammer screw is broken. Dark lightly pitted bore retaining largely intact rifling. (01-18342/DS). ANTIQUE. $700-1,100.
