Lot 3254 FINE 1810 DATED EAST INDIA CO. "BROWN BESS"
FLINTLOCK MUSKET W/ BAYONET. Cal. 75. NSN. Bbl.39". This is a fine example of a Nepalese used musket from their armory. Lock is dated 1810 at tail & has rampant East India Co. lion forward of cock. Various military proofs & markings are found on bbl. & stock, characteristic of other Nepalese armory muskets. Broken white leather sling of unknown origin is attached. CONDITION: very good to fine overall; appears complete & original, mostly smooth gray metal overall, crisp markings. Stock has numerous sm. storage blemishes & one lg. defect on left side of buttstock, hand worn patina. Mechanically fine w/ smooth dark bore. (01-18432/JS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
