MCKEEVER CARTRIDGE BOX. 1) M1872. Overall length: 35”. Blade length: 29”. Unmarked blade has a single wide fuller. Gilded brass hilt. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Gilded brass mounted, plated scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a medium gray mottled patina w/ areas of cleaned pitting. Tip has been reshaped. Hilt shows only traces of original gilding & is a bit misshaped. Grip shows moderate wear. Scabbard shows overall light wear. 2) 45-70 BAYONET. Overall length: 21 1/4". Bayonet has a blued finish & is stamped, “US” on the flat. Scabbard has a leather belt attachment w/ a brass “US” button. CONDITION: bayonet retains nearly all of its blued finish. Scabbard shows moderate wear. Belt loop has lost most of its finish. 3) MCKEEVER CARTRIDGE BOX. Black leather box w/ “US” in oval impressed on the front. Box contains 20 shell casings for a 45-70 rifle. CONDITION: box shows moderate wear overall. (02-14700/BF). $200-300.
