Very Good Victorian era 1 ½ hand sword with well executed etched guard and bulbous egg shaped pommel (looks period) and a single thin wire wrapped leather over wood grip. The sword is 45” in overall length with a 38” blade measuring 1 5/8” across the ricasso. The blade shows minor pitting and erosion with over 150 years of natural aging. The blade is properly tempered and an attractive decorative element of armor for display,possibly Schmidt or Heinrich workshops. Est.: $600-$1,200.
