Lot 538 20FD-145 SHARPS RIFLE
Sharps New Model 1859 Military rifle with iron mounts and patch box with under mounted bayonet lug for sabre bayonet, S/N 37238. (Refer Flayderman 5F-023). Old re-blued finish of which 75%-85% remains turningpurple with visible barrel markings and lock markings. Correct sights and small parts except primer mechanism removed. The bore is near excellent with strong rifling. The stocks are cleaned but cleaned and sandedslightly at the time of refinish with circular hole plugged with wood behind the rear swivel long, long ago. Type of re-blue attributed to Bannerman's at the turn of the century. (Antique) Est.: $1200-$2400
