A rare and desirable detached lock from a German Matchlock Musket from 1610. The 5 1/2" iron plate with beveled edge and teat. Well shaped match holder with original winged screw to hold cord Original swiveling pancover. Sear mechanism is all original. Condition with light pitting to be expected from a 400 year old military matchlock mechanism. Muskets with matchlocks such as this one were extensively used in colonialAmerica and this rare lock would be a wonderful addition to any early American arms collection. All original. Est.: $600-$800
