Lot 247 20FD-64 AMERICAN SILVER MOUNTED FLINTLOCK

American restocked and relocked British flintlock pistol with silver mounts from Revolutionary War era. The lock is signed "Henry King New York Warranted" and shows a rolled on frizzen circa 1790-early 1800s. The stock is American walnut. Measures 13 1/2" overall with 8" barrel of approximately .62 caliber smoothbore. Very good overall condition with stock retaining most of its violin type varnish and fairly crisp silvermounts (No hallmarks). An old collection tag attached reads "M B R (Martin B. Retting) obtained from Walter O' Conner 1989-92 who consigned it to Little John's". The barrel and mounts were most likely in America during the colonial and revolutionary War as they are 1750-1780 in style and were refitted after Revolutionary War to be retasked in war of 1812 or westward expansion as good British gun parts were as good as gold inearly America.
