6 shot cased American pepperbox with bar hammer marked "Patent 1849" and "New York" on the reverse. Probably Blunt and Syms. Measures 8 5/8" overall with a 3 1/2" barrel group of .31 caliber. Cleaned to gray metalwith sharp surfaces and good grips. Plunger flask, mold, and rod included. Original case is very good overall. Slightly different in size and grip shape possibly experimental or pre-production. (Antique) Est.: $1500-$3000
