Lot 3616 REVOLUTIONARY WAR ERA BRITISH SEA SERVICE
FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 28 Bore (approx. 55 cal.). NSN. This is among the more elegant patterns of Revolutionary War era military pistols. Long & sleek at 19" overall w/ 12" bbl. having British military proofs on left side of breech. Lock marked w/ crown & "GR" cypher w/ broad arrow proof forward of cock plus "TOWER" rear of cock. Sm. proofs also appear on stock, rear of bbl. tang & base of 8" belt hook. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Appears original & complete. Metal is overall gray patina w/ pitting. Stock is sound & solid, as are brass mts. w/ light mustard patina. Mechanically functional w/ clear smooth bore having pitting. (01-17098/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
