Cal. 52. S# C,34629. Standard configuration w/ 30” bbl., patchbox & no bayonet lug. Hartford address & “NEW MODEL 1863” stamped on top of bbl., fitted w/ Lawrence patent rear sight. Right hand lock w/ Lawrence patent primer marked w/ Sharps patent information. Left side has 1849 patent date. American walnut stock w/ steel butt has remnants of inspectors mark on left. Forend is held by 3 bands & screw at rear. Rifle holds an old sling marked “ROBERT S. RALEIGH”. CONDITION: good. Blued parts retain most of their finish. Action & locks are mostly gray to brown patina. Stocks have old refinish w/ 3” crack under patchbox which extends to left side. Bore is good, a bit dark, may clean. Mechanically good.
