Lot 1251 19RH-76 DBL PERC. W. OGDEN

Double barrel percussion rifle marked “W. Ogden, Owego New York” on both barrels and “Rashmore” on the locks. Measures 39” overall with 32 ½” barrels rifled in about .36-38 caliber. German silver mounts with oval patch box and nicely engraved large stag inlay into the cheek piece. The locks are working when trigger is set. The metal shows a smooth brown patina with minor erosion and slight pitting. The wood is good to very good withminor chips, slight losses and a stress crack by cheek piece. A Tioga County New York maker circa 1849-60s. Found in gold rush area of Northern California. (Antique) Est.: $800-$1600
