Prussian Cavalry m1889 Degen Half-basket Hilt Model 1889 KD-89] with folding guard. Unmarked triple etched nickeled blade is 30-5/8” long and 1” wide at the ricasso. Single fullered blade with false back edgecontains floral motif on spine. The obverse is etched with panoply of arms and contains blued “Oldenbg. Drag. Regt. No. 19” with Crown over “A”. The reverse is acid etched with floral motif and panoply of arms alongwith a blued scene of ten attacking cavalry with drawn swords. Sheet metal D-shaped guard is tarnished. Grooved celluloid covered but peeling wood grip. Flat top pommel with round tang nut. Folding guardhas the Prussian Coast of Arms. Black painted metal scabbard has one fixed hanger ring.
